The Pinehust Wine Shoppe Building

The building that houses the Pinehurst Wine Shoppe has been a landmark at the corner of Gittings and Bellona Avenue since the 1940s. Originally built as a Grauel's Market, today it houses the wine store and Charlesmeade Pharmacy. Members of the Graul family provided us with this historic photos.

Check out the prices! Ritz Crackers 25 cents and Saltines only 10 cents. We think that the flower arrangements pictured here came from the nursery that was located behind the building on Gittings.

Customers could sit in the chair you see in the foreground, while the merchants collected their merchandise for purchase.
